Overview:
At
the beginning of each season, a Meet Sheet needs to
be completed for each swimmer. The purpose of this meet
sheet is to identify which dates the swimmer intends
to swim in meets. All entries will be done by the coaching
staff and only those swimmers who have clearly indicated
that they wish to attend a meet shall be entered. Please
make your intentions clear. NO phone calls will be made.
How
To Fill Out The STAR Meet Sheet:
To
complete this sheet, please circle both
the dates and the meet you wish to participate in. If
you simply circle the date, the coaching staff will
place the swimmer in the most appropriate meet on the
given weekend.
Parents of new swimmers should bear in mind that a swimmer
may begin the season by qualifying only for "C"
meets and may quickly progress to "B" or "A"
level meets. Therefore, consider all level of competition
when completing this form. New swimmers should always
begin at the "C" level. Also, B/C meets are
held on the same weekend at the same pool. Where there
is a meet marked A/B/C, it means that the meet is open
to all levels of swimming.
Entries are done 14 days prior to a meet. (Some out-of-town
meets are completed 17 days prior to the meet) If changes
to this sheet are necessary, please notify the entry
committee by calling 651-704-0024 and leaving any changes
on the answering machine. If a coach answers, give the
changes directly to the coach. This much be done at
least 14 days prior to the meet.
Complete 2 identical meets sheets for each swimmer. Keep one for your records. Mail the other copy to Paul Lundsten, 5860 - 128th Alcove North, St. Paul, MN 55038. This will ensure that your swimmers will be signed up for swim meets immediately. If you have any questions, please call 651-704-0024 during office hours MWF 9:00 - 12:00 noon.
Escrow Account:
When you mail your meet sheet in, you need to mail in a check with it, made out to STAR Swim Team. These funds will be kept separate from the other fees that STAR requires and will be used only for meet entry costs.
To figure out how much to send in, take the number of meets you have signed up for and multiply it by $15.00. ($15.00 is the average amount it costs for a swimmer to participate in a meet) So, if you have signed up for 5 meets (5x$15=$75.00) you would send in $75.00. If you account gets downs to $0.00 or less, you will receive an escrow statement that will have this amount highlighted, indicating the need for more funds. You must pay this promptly or your swimmer may not be entered into their next meet.
